RRC Employees Raise More than $9,600 to Support Central Texas Flood Victims

AUSTIN Employees at the Railroad Commission of Texas demonstrated remarkable generosity and community spirit by raising $9,695 to support relief efforts for those impacted by recent flooding in Central Texas. The fundraising campaign engaged the agencys statewide employees who made voluntary monetary contributions. The funds raised will go directly to the following nonprofit partners currently providing rescue, relief and recovery assistance in the areas hardest hit by the natural disaster. Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country Kerr County Flood Relief Fund A 501(c)(3) public charity based in Kerrvillewill directly distribute funds to vetted local organizations providing rescue, relief, recovery services and flood assistance. The Fund will support impacted communities including Boerne, Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point and Comfort. Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) A 501(c)(3) nonprofit first responder organization headquartered in Austin, Texas. TEXSAR serves all citizens of the State of Texas and deploys at the request of law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency management agencies. TEXSAR provides specialized services such as ground search and rescue; flood and swiftwater rescue; K9 search, rescue, and recovery; disaster relief services; aerial search; and UAV support. This initiative reflects the strong spirit of service and solidarity among our employees and their dedication to serving fellow Texans in a time of need, said Wei Wang, Executive Director of the Railroad Commission. We are grateful for their willingness to step up and make a tangible difference in the lives of those recovering from the devastating floods. We remain deeply saddened by the loss and appreciate those including the first responders and volunteers who are assisting in the recovery efforts. The Commission staff fundraiser was held July 10 through July 31.
